Connect a custom site with a webhook

Receive every article as JSON at your own endpoint, for any CMS or internal tool.

Markdown

Do it in Distribb. This opens the right page in the app. You may need to sign in first.

Open Integrations

The API Webhook sends each article to a URL you choose, as JSON, with your access token. Use it for any CMS Distribb does not connect to directly.

Steps

  1. Open Integrations, choose Add Integration, and on the Blog tab choose API Webhook.
  2. Fill in Webhook Endpoint: a public HTTPS URL that accepts POST requests.
  3. Fill in Access Token: any secret string your server checks on each request.
  4. Under Test Your Webhook, choose Send Test Payload. Your endpoint must answer with a 2xx status.
  5. Choose Save Integration.

Check it works

Your server receives a POST with event_type publish_articles and the article inside data.articles. The full field list is in the integration docs, or open View payload structure in the same dialog.

Good to know

  • Copy setup prompt copies a prompt you can hand to an AI coding assistant to build the receiving endpoint.
  • To send an edit, open the article, choose Edit, then Update. Distribb sends event_type update_articles to the same URL. Store the article id on first publish and use it to find the post on updates.
  • Many SaaS teams use the webhook for a custom blog. The content is the same as on any other CMS: see the AI content writer.
