# Choose drafts or automatic publishing

Decide whether articles go live by themselves, wait as drafts in Distribb, or arrive as drafts on your site.

One setting decides what happens when an article is ready: publish it, keep it as a draft in Distribb, or send it as a draft to your site.

## Steps

1. Open **Article Settings** in the sidebar.
2. Find **Blog Publishing Preference**.
3. Pick one:
   - **Publish Immediately**: the article goes live on your site on its day.
   - **Save as Drafts in Distribb**: it waits in Distribb until you publish it.
   - **Send as Draft to my website**: it lands as a draft in your CMS for you to publish there.
4. While you are here, set **Ideal Publishing Time** and **Your Timezone**.
5. Choose **Save Content Settings**.

## Check it works

With drafts in Distribb, articles show **Review & publish** in the **Calendar** table. Open one and choose **Publish to Platform** when you are happy.

## Good to know

- New projects start on **Publish Immediately**. If you want to read the first articles before they go live, switch to drafts on day one, then switch back once you trust them.
